THROUGH THE RAIN…

SHE can not walk to reach the clouds but her brilliant hands drive her to sky…
Mhatet, as everybody fondly calls her, depends on wheelchair. A person with disability who has hurdled trials in her desire and passion to carve a niche in life’s uncertainty.
She could not join her peers playing on the street. Having fun running in chasing game was a wish she confined to herself, but without the sense of withdrawal.
God has reason and purpose. What Mhatet had been denied of was filled with great compliment in resplendent fashion. At the age of six, she could sketch a figure. Her hand can draw and paint effortlessly.  That’s sheer and innate talent, a gift God has endowed her to fill the void drawn by her predicament.
She has nurtured God’s gift, She has found comfort and solace in the serene company of pencil, brush, cardboard and canvass.
She developed her talent in her formative years, ushering her to the world of artistry and metaphorical interpretation.
She frolics in her own world. Mhatet knows “in every sigh is a greater smile.”
She has adapted the life’s stark reality. Unperturbed, she continues to dare and conquer with brave heart, every challenge impending her way.  She knows God’s mercy and grace pour profusely on her. She holds on to faith, with no question.
God’s miracle! She discovered she has golden voice and her hand, not tired by holding brush and pencil, could strum the guitar.
What a great find! Mhatet sings beautifully and plays the guitar magically. Seeing her plucking the guitar in her own accompaniment of her solo repertoire in matrimonial vows, adds glitter and meaning to the union. She is endeared to anybody’s heart.
Mhatet pours interest, dedication and love in every pursuit, She managed to go to school. She has inculcated in her mind the true value of education and the power of knowledge.
Mhatet, whose real name is MARIA THERESA D. REPANE, a simple lass settling in a idyllic place of PUROK LAKADBULAN, BASUD, POLANGUI, ALBAY, PHILIPPINES, has lot to conquer. She has survived trials. Mhatet adheres to the truth that this is God’s way of praising her in her capacity to endure.
She has continued to show and do what she can achieve. She epitomizes the true mold of a God’s child.  Never lose hope. Hold on to your dream.
She paints. She sings. She plays guitar…And she could write with creativity.
The world is behind her.
Her hands and mind do the craft but her genuine heart polishes her art.
This is her story…
